Band Scramble Rules and Regulations
Everyone at the Festival is eligible to sign up.
Musicians (fiddle/banjo/guitar/mandolin/bass/miscellaneous), singers, and dancers are all welcome.
Get ready to get silly and have fun!
Sign up at the Information Table between 10am and 4pm.
Put your Name and instrument or skill and skill level on the sign-up form and put it in the bucket.
Scramble Times
4:15pm Get your scramble band assignment at the Band Scramble Table (inside by the Information Table).
4:30pm Start practice at your assigned practice area and practice (and choose a name) between 4:30 and 5:30.
5:50pm Be back at the Courtyard stage no later than 6:00 pm. You can do one or two pieces, but you’ll have six minutes to perform – including talking.
6:00pm Scramble Performances begin
Judging -- Remember this is all in fun!
Bands will be judged for music, rhythm, intonation/execution, style, stage presence, and band name. Points will be taken off for going over the 6 minutes. The top three bands will get prize ribbons.
Bribing the judges and MC should be discreet but disclosed—and is all in fun and encouraged!!!
Even if you don’t join a band, you’ll want to be at the Courtyard Stage at 6:00 pm to enjoy the performances.
THE TOP THREE BANDS WILL GET PRIZE RIBBONS – SUITABLE FOR FRAMING OR DISPLAYING
Youngsters will get “star participant” ribbons regardless placement
