Band Scramble

Everyone at the Festival is eligible to sign up. Musicians (fiddle/banjo/guitar/mandolin/bass/miscellaneous), singers, and dancers are all welcome.

Sign up at the information booth between 10 am and 3:30 pm. Get your scramble band assignment at the Band Scramble Table (inside by the Information Table) at 4:10pm, practice (and choose a name) between 4:30 and 5:15 and be back at the Courtyard Stage no later than 5:30 pm. You’ll have six minutes to perform.

Bands will be judged for music, rhythm, intonation/execution, style, stage presence, and band name. The top three bands will get prize ribbons.

Bribing the judges and MC should be discreet, but disclosed—and is all in fun and encouraged!!!

Even if you don’t join a band, you’ll want to be at the Courtyard Stage at 5:30 pm to enjoy the performances.

FILL OUT THE FORM BY WRITING YOUR NAME AND YOUR INSTRUMENT. ONE INSTRUMENT PER PERSON. categories…FIDDLE/BANJO/GUITAR/MANDOLIN/BASS/MISCELLANEOUS and skill level...BEGINNING/INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED
SINGERS AND DANCERS ARE ALSO WELCOME
AT 4:10 PM, PEOPLE WILL BE ASSIGNED TO A BAND. EACH BAND GETS APPROXIMATELY 45 MINUTES TO PRACTICE, BUT PERFORMANCE TIME MAY NOT EXCEED SIX (6) MINUTES (POINTS DEDUCTED IF YOU EXCEED 6 MINUTES)
EACH BAND MUST HAVE A NAME. CREATIVITY IS REQUESTED
PRACTICING WILL BE BETWEEN 4:30 AND 5:15 AT A DESIGNATED LOCATION
ALL BANDS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO PLAY/SING/DANCE, ETC. AT 5:30 AT THE COURTYARD STAGE. THE ORDER OF PRESENTATION WILL BE ARBITRARILY CHOSEN. BANDS MUST BE PRESENT AT 5:30.
EACH SCRAMBLED BAND WILL BE JUDGED FOR MUSIC, RHYTHM, INTONATION/EXECUTION, STYLE, STAGE PRESENCE, NAME
THE TOP THREE BANDS WILL GET PRIZE RIBBONS – SUITABLE FOR FRAMING OR DISPLAYING
